Hey, I'm Desiree. I'm a nerdy brony chick who draws sometimes. I like video games, and I think Lord of the Rings is heaven on earth. My favorite colour is green, and sometimes I like to sit in my underwear wearing a top hat and drinking tea while watching Dr. Who.
That is all.

(1/4/2012) As a transgender woman, it causes issues when I refer to myself as a “brony”. I would really love a more inclusive term.

Transmare? I’ve heard that before.
Personally I believe being called a Brony is a gender neutral thing, but Pegasister is good for the females who want to be identified differently.

Its the same way for me and the term brony. Its why I call myself a pegasister or pony fan. If I hadn’t been stuck with male terms for everything my whole life so far (and still do, sadly, thanks to still having to present as male to most people IRL), I might not have such a gut reaction to it (though my reaction to it is nowhere near as bad as it is for other terms partly because the pony community does actively want to get rid of the gendered connotations of the term, which is a good thing). I really wish I didn’t have this reaction.
I personally like the term transmare, so I will have to think about it, though I will probably not use it to keep my trans*ness a little more on the down low (not hiding it, but I don’t want it to be the first thing people know about me depending on the context).
I recently saw someone suggest the term bronette somewhere else. I’m haven’t yet decided on what I think about it entirely. Its two syllables but it still lacks the catchiness of brony or even pegasister.

Bronette is not as catchy as Brony, Pega-sis or Transmare, but it’s cute in it’s own right.
